Lawn Mowing

Lawn mowing is our foundational service at Native Designs. We take great pride in making your property look its best with our professional lawn mowing services. We focus in on using smaller mowers so we can do the absolute best job possible. Details matter to us! You can be assured that we remember the little things that matter such as closing your fence gate before we leave and returning your gutters and sump lines to the position they were in before we arrived. We tailor a maintenance package that not only reflects the specific needs of your property, but also matches your budget.

Special Services

Basic Lawn Mowing — includes mowing all grass areas, line trimming around landscape borders, fences and other objects, and blowing off all concrete areas.
Full Service Mowing — includes mowing all grass areas, line trimming, lawn edging on driveway and sidewalks with a crisp edge maintained all season, and blowing off all concrete areas.

Lawn & Landscape Maintenance

Does your lawn need some extra care and rejuvenation? Our team can help restore and keep your lawn looking healthy, lush and green.
Mulch Services — Mulch can add curb appeal without braking the bank. Mulch aids with moisture retention, soil temperature control and weed suppression.
Dethatching — Thatch can keep water and air from reaching the soil and if left untreated, can create an environment that harbors pests and diseases. Dethatching removes those layers of dead grass, roots and debris matted between the soil and the growing grass, keeping the grass greener and healthier.
Aeration — Removes small cores of soil from your lawn to reduce soil compaction and promotes root growth for healthier grass.
Overseeding — Plant grass seed into existing turf – without tearing up the soil.
Spring and Fall Cleanups — Can include cleaning leaves and debris from your lawn or landscape beds, reducing perennials, removing sand from boulevards or anything else needed to prepare your property for the upcoming season.
Lawn Repair — We can fix bare or problem spots in your lawn
Bed Edging & Redefining — Let us maintain a crisp and seamless edge between your yard and flower beds. This gives your property a professionally maintained appearance that sets it apart from the rest.
Tree and Shrub Trimming — We will trim and prune overgrowth to improve the health and appearance of your landscaping.
Landscape Bed Weeding — Let us keep your landscape free of those pesky weeds.

This is only a small portion of services we can provide for you! So please give us a call and let us help you with all your landscaping needs.

Spring & Fall Cleanup

To start the season off with a bang and get your property in shape, we like to do a thorough once over of your property. We rake compacted beds, remove debris that may have built up over the winter, power blow and hand rake so April showers can get the May flowers popping.

Commercial Landscaping

There are many other services that can be done in the spring.
That includes:
• Dethatch
• Aerating
• Bush / Shrub Trimming
• Tree Trimming
• Leaf Cleanup

A full spring cleanup includes:
• Cutting back of perennials (prune off dead foliage)
• Blow leaves and debris from landscaping
• Mow lawn
• Bag and haul away all organic matter

A full spring cleanup will leave your yard ready for all of your outdoor spring and fall activities.  Like all our services, we can customize for your exact needs.  If you’ve already done some of the work but have found you can’t finish for some reason, we can come in and do the rest.

If you want to give your lawn the best start possible, you will want to consider a dethatch and aerating.  How do you know if your lawn requires a dethatch?  Well, if you walk on the turf and find that it feels “spongy” you likely have a buildup of thatch.  Thatch is the dead clippings from previous lawn mowings that build up at the base of the blades of grass.  If you have too much thatch, it will be difficult for your grass to get the water and nutrients it needs to be healthy.

If you have a very hard lawn, you might benefit from aerating.  Aerating will loosen up the soil and allow water to get in.  It will also allow the grass roots to grow and strengthen because the dirt won’t be so hard to get through.

A comprehensive fall clean-up sets the stage for winter.

We like to do a thorough rake, vacuum and removal of fall’s glory after it’s hit the decks. We use state of the art equipment to suck up, haul away and recycle what Mother Nature leaves behind. This service is completed after the last mowing of the season, and before December ends (depending on weather).

Some people prefer to have their lawn cleaned up in the spring, however, doing it in the fall is actually better for your lawn.  With that said, we live in Michigan and sometimes winter arrives earlier than we are ready for, so you might not get everything cleaned up before the snow.  That is one reason we encourage everybody to get on the schedule as early possible.

When you have everything cleaned up and taken care of before the snow falls, you give your lawn a great start for spring.

Fall cleanups get rid of leaves and organic matter that build up when the weather turns cold and leaves start falling.  It is good to get the debris off the lawn because it is not ideal for it to sit there all winter covered by snow.  The leaves start to rot and get moldy.  It could also lead the grass being killed if not taken care of early enough in the spring.

Fall is a great time to trim trees and bushes.  The plants are going into hibernation and won’t be doing much growing, so it is less stressful on them.  The bugs are also not as abundant, so it is less likely that your plants will have disease and damage from them.
